The Houston artist offered us a free mixtape back in August. While, I took my time to enjoy all these new songs, I knew that Travis Scott had created something really special. The beats are what strikes me the most at first. The production on every track is so perfectly crafted, so personal, it sounds like an album. I was not surprise that he was close friends with Atlanta’s producers: TM88, Southside, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Sonny Digital… I especially enjoy the effects on his voice which they master perfectly.
I discovered this artist through his single “Mamacita” featuring Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan. I was really impressed with the visuals deployed in this short film. Travis Scott delivers solid lyrics and flows, feeling at ease on trap beats & on slower tempo/chill songs.

Producing for Kanye West, Travis Scott is definitely an artist to watch in 2015 as he’s ready to accomplish something bigger: releasing his first album. If you dig this kind of music, I highly recommend that you watch Noisey rap Atlanta episodes: you will discover new artists from Atlanta, the trap capital in today’s music landscape.
